Edgewood Tahoe Resort Wedding in Lake Tahoe
Athena and Alan are high school sweethearts whose dreamy wedding took place at Edgewood Tahoe Resort, one of the most iconic Lake Tahoe wedding venues. Nestled amid mountains and alpine lakes, their vibrant and romantic celebration was a tribute to their shared love of nature. Their beloved pug Wookie was a natural in front of the camera and even made a cameo at the ceremony.
Their personal vows were very sweet and brought tears to everyone. The day was sprinkled with personalized charm – from having a cotton candy cart making fresh cotton candy to heartfelt thank-you messages to bespoke escort cards to photocards of Wookie, and even a whimsical Wookie cake topper. As the night unfolded, it became clear that Athena and Alan are cherished dearly by their guests- they danced the night away together!
How they met
Athena and Alan first met back in high school, where their friend groups often hung out together in the courtyard after class. Their friendship really took off over AIM chats, where they plotted ways to set up their best friends, since Alan’s best friend Jerry had a crush on Athena’s best friend. That match never worked out, but instead, it set the stage for Athena and Alan’s own story to begin.
Their friends arranged a couple of double dates, but their first true one-on-one date happened in a way that felt straight out of a movie. Athena invited both of their friend groups to see The Time Traveler’s Wife (a nod to her love for rom-coms), but in the end, no one else showed up, just the two of them. To this day, Athena still isn’t sure if it was a coincidence or a little bit of careful planning. What she does remember is the mix of excitement and nerves she felt that night, especially about her sweaty hands, which only made the memory even sweeter.
