San Francisco City Hall Wedding: An Intimate Celebration with Family

Some couples want the big celebration. And some couples know exactly what they want- the people they love most, a beautiful space, and nothing in between them and the moment. That was L + S, and their San Francisco City Hall wedding was absolutely perfect for it.

L grew up in the Bay Area, and with her still deep in her residency journey, they wanted something intimate and personal- no stress, no production, just family and the two of them. San Francisco City Hall felt like the natural choice. The architecture is stunning, the process is beautifully simple, and there's something so romantic about getting married in one of the most iconic buildings in the city.

The Details That Made Their Day Completely Theirs

When you meet L and S, you feel it immediately. These two are genuinely crazy about each other. They make each other laugh and smile, and the way they look at each other just says everything.

Their bouquet from Bloom Gallery Flowers brought the most beautiful pops of color to the day, and their ceremony took place at the top of the rotunda stairs, which is honestly one of the most gorgeous spots in all of City Hall.

Here's the detail that got me though: S had L's ring custom made while he was in Ireland. And because L is a surgeon, she wears it as a necklace. That right there is love that works around real life, and I think that's the sweetest thing.

Making the Most of San Francisco City Hall

After the ceremony we headed to the fourth floor for family portraits, and once we wrapped those up the rest of the time was all about L and S. We moved through each floor and finished at the iconic front doors!

S has cerebral palsy, so we were thoughtful and intentional about which locations and movements worked best for him. We made it work beautifully, and honestly that's always the goal- every couple deserves photos that feel easy and joyful, whatever that looks like for them.

Their Advice for Couples

L and S have one piece of advice for other couples, straight from Wedding Crashers: "True love is the recognition of its counterpoint in another." I mean, they're not wrong.

Cheers to you, L + S. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your City Hall day. Here's to more love, more good food, and all the laughter and smiles that are coming your way. ✨

xoxo misterdebs
