They chose The Gardens at Heather Farm in Walnut Creek for their engagement photos because they wanted a romantic, whimsical setting filled with blooming flowers and soft sunset light. We were lucky to catch the gardens in full bloom, and as the sun began to set, the golden glow created the dreamiest atmosphere.

There was so much laughter throughout our time together, proving that the best photos come when couples simply enjoy the moment and each other’s company.

A Romantic Proposal Under the Meteor Shower

Jeffey planned the most unforgettable proposal for Shirley during the peak of a summer meteor shower last August. What started as a surprise getaway to Redding seemed like a simple vacation, but Jeffey had much more in mind. He asked Shirley to bring a special dress for what she thought would be just a romantic dinner.

The evening began with a private boat ride along the river, complete with a chef onboard who prepared a beautiful dinner for them. The atmosphere was calm, intimate, and the perfect setup for what was to come next. After dinner, Jeffey told Shirley they were heading out to stargaze, and he drove them to Whiskeytown Lake.

As they walked down a quiet pathway to a dock, Shirley noticed a soft blue light glowing in the distance. To her surprise, the light revealed a sign that read, “Will you marry me, Shirley Lo.” Overwhelmed with joy, Shirley realized that this was the moment Jeffey had planned all along.

Jeffey gave a heartfelt speech, sang to her, and then got down on one knee to ask the question that would change their lives forever: “Will you marry me?” Of course, Shirley said yes. The night was filled with love, laughter, and the magic of the stars—a proposal that perfectly reflected their story.
