Montalvo Arts Center Engagement Photos in Saratoga | M + M

Wisteria and a Love Story Years in the Making

There's something extra special about photographing people you actually know and love. I met M + M in dance class and we've been friends ever since, so when they asked me to be part of their elopement journey I said yes immediately. We kicked things off with their spring engagement photos at Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, CA, and this romantic South Bay location did not disappoint.

A Love Story That Started on a Basketball Court

Miranda had just signed up for a local basketball league when she met Matthew, who happened to be volunteering as a coach. They went to different colleges after that, which meant long distance through all four years- taking the train to see each other, making it work. That kind of dedication early on tells you everything about who these two are.

Why Montalvo Arts Center Is Perfect for Engagement Photos

Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga is one of those locations that feels like a hidden gem in the South Bay. The grounds are lush and beautifully maintained, with gorgeous garden paths, stunning architecture, and in the spring, wisteria. We timed the session to catch the last bits of it in bloom, and it was absolutely worth it. If you're looking for a Bay Area engagement session location that feels romantic and a little unexpected, Montalvo is a dream.

Located in Saratoga, Montalvo Arts Center is such a beautiful option for couples looking for engagement photos in the South Bay. It has a mix of garden paths, historic architecture, open greenery, and quiet tucked-away corners, which makes it easy to create a full gallery with lots of variety without needing to drive to multiple locations.

Boba, Golden Hour, and Everything In Between

One thing you need to know about M + M: they are serious foodies with a deep and unwavering love for boba. So naturally, we worked it into the session. There's something so genuine about sipping boba in the middle of a gorgeous garden, and those ended up being some of my favorite shots of the day.

After our drinks we explored the rest of the grounds and stayed all the way through sunset. That golden hour light filtering through the trees? Absolutely magic.

I cannot wait for their elopement day!!

xoxo misterdebs
