A Fall Wedding Full of Music, Legos, and So Much Joy at Palm Event Center in Pleasanton
D + O are the kind of couple who walk into their wedding day at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton with one goal: have fun. No stressing, no over-managing, just being fully present and soaking in every single moment. And honestly? That energy made for one of the most joyful, personality-packed weddings I've had the pleasure of documenting.
Their love story started at UC Davis, and over the years it's grown into this beautiful thing built on inside jokes, good music, great food, and a whole lot of shared nerdiness. All of that showed up everywhere on their wedding day at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton, CA.
The First Look That Started Everything With a Laugh
They both got ready at the same hotel before heading to their first look, and if that first look tells you anything about D and O, it's everything. O is a Star Wars fan, so naturally D had a photo of Jar Jar Binks on a stick ready and waiting for when he turned around. The look on his face? Priceless. Starting your wedding day with that kind of laughter is the absolute best way to shake off any nerves, and those two nailed it.
The Details That Were So Completely Them
Their love for music and all things nerdy was woven throughout every detail of the reception. Each centerpiece featured a vinyl record player with a specific song. Guests left their mark on a Lego guestboard, building little Lego pieces with their names to add to the display. Every single detail felt intentional and personal, like D and O sat down and said "what do we actually love?" and then just ran with it.
Their First Dance Was Actually a Live Performance
Instead of a traditional first dance, D and O did a first performance as newlyweds with D on keyboard, O on guitar. The whole room was completely into it. They even performed with their respective parents, which was one of those moments that just gets you right in the heart. I've photographed a lot of first dances, but a live performance with the parents joining in? That was a first, and it was absolutely beautiful.
The Speeches, the Dancing, and the Best Kind of Send-Off
The speeches were exactly what you'd expect from people who truly know and love D and O. Personal, funny, full of real stories. Every single person up there shared something genuine about who they are and what they mean to their community.
The night wrapped up with a packed dance floor and music that did not quit. Everyone was out there, and the energy was electric from start to finish.
Why the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton Is Such a Beautiful Wedding Venue

Cheers to you, D + O. May there be more good food, more live music, more adventures, and maybe a few more Lego sets along the way. 🎸✨
