Brooklyn Bridge Engagement Photos at DUMBO
Starting the Day on the Bridge
The Brooklyn Bridge is a truly iconic location—offering not just an awesome backdrop for engagement photos, but also an unforgettable NYC experience. To beat the crowds, Karen, Adam, and I met bright and early around 7:30 AM. Though the morning began with drizzle, the rest of the session was beautifully overcast—perfect for soft, even light.
A Story Worth Celebrating
While we frolicked across the bridge, I asked about their journey together. Karen and Adam met on Hinge in January 2016 at The Hollow Nickel. After a long hospital shift, Karen’s very relatable request for a hamburger impressed Adam immediately. And while Adam’s early prediction about Trump’s nomination was... less accurate, they still hit it off—and have been inseparable ever since.
A Perfectly Imperfect Proposal
Adam had been holding onto his mother’s ring for over a year, waiting for the right time to propose. When the "perfect moment" never quite arrived, he made one himself—on a casual walk with Karen and their dog, Science. After Karen jokingly brought up the stress of weddings, Adam responded, “Well, if we don’t get married, what should I do with this ring in my pocket then?” A perfect proposal, in their perfectly natural way.
Finishing at DUMBO
We wrapped the morning in DUMBO, Brooklyn, with those iconic cobblestone streets and bridge views. Though the area had a few early risers, everyone was kind and gave us space.
Karen and Adam—thank you for braving the early morning with me. I had the best time capturing your energy and love. Here's to a lifetime of laughter and delicious food ❤️
